Question / Problem:

What can cause an issue where an index field has a GUID value rather than the original name of the imported file?

Answer / Solution:

This issue can be caused by the batch class being configured with an index field with a default value set to the {First Page Original File Name} Kofax Capture value.

The index field should be mapped to the KfxMessageAttachmentList message field in the Import Mapping tab of the destination which returns the file names of the documents or attachments and was introduced starting in Kofax Import Connector 2.5.

For Folder import, this returns the file names of the documents in the folders delimited by ';'.

For Email import, this returns the file names of the attachments of a message delimited by ';'.

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

1. Set the default value for the index field to blank in the batch class and republish the batch class.

2. Map the index field to KfxMessageAttachmentList message field in the Import Mapping tab of the destination and restart the KC Plug-In service.
