Purge KIC Message Connector Storage of all Processed and Failed Messages

QAID # 18240 Published

Question / Problem:

Is it possible to purge a Kofax Import Connector (KIC) system of all the processed/failed messages in storage?

Answer / Solution:

All messages, Active, Processed and Failed are kept in the Storage.bin data file.

To "clear out" KIC, you could rename that file; a new empty data file will be created.

Please follow the steps below to locate and rename the existing storage data file:

  1. Open Message Connector Configuration.
  2. Under General, find the Storage File name and location.
    (Default is C:\ProgramData\Kofax\KCIC-ED\MC\Storage.bin)
  3. Open Windows explorer and navigate to the location specified above.
  4. Close MC configuration and Plugin, if open
  5. Stop the Plugin and MC service.
  6. Rename Storage.bin to something else (e.g., Storage-OLD.bin).
  7. Start the MC service.
  8. Start the Plugin service.

Now, open MC Monitor and verify all entries are gone.
