Question / Problem:
What do the different message statuses mean in the Message Connector Monitor?
Answer / Solution:
See detailed explanations of each below.
Messages: X active, X processed. Disk usage: x%, below target. Active: x% of target.
This line can be divided up in the following parts:ere.
- Messages: X active
Gives you the amount of messages that are currently 'Active'. You can view these messages by clicking the 'Active' link under the 'Inbound Status' section.
An 'Active' message is a message that has been received by the MC and is waiting to be delivered to KC.
- X processed
Gives you the amount of messages that have been delivered to KC and that are still available in the storage. (that haven't been removed by the automatic clean-up)
You can view these messages by clicking the 'Processed' link under the 'Inbound Status' section.
- Disk usage: x%, (below target/at target/above target)
Reports the amount of storage space (in percent of total storage size) that's taken up by active and processed messages.
The storage is managed automatically. Files and messages that are correctly imported into Kofax Capture are marked for deletion and they are automatically removed when the storage fills.
The built-in target is to keep the total storage usage at 50 %.
- Active: x% of target
Reports the amount of storage space (in percent of target storage size) that's taken up by active messages.
Sample values for a 1 GB storage in which there are 3000 processed messages and currently 5 active messages that take up 10MB each.
Messages: 5 active, 3000 processed. Disk usage: 55%, above target. Active: 10% of target.
From the example above, the automatic clean-up tries to keep the storage usage at 50% (500MB). This means that 50MB of active messages take up 10 % of the target of 500MB.
Keep in mind that the 'Keep failed' setting in the Message Connector Configurator can prevent the automatic clean-up from reaching its 50% goal.
