Error initializing Kofax Capture Importer Pool

Question / Problem:

What can cause an issue where the KC Plug-In service won’t start and the following error message appears in the KC Plug-In console?

Last service start-up error: Cannot start service, because there was an error initializing Kofax Capture Importer Pool.

How can this issue be resolved?

Answer / Solution:

This issue can be caused by not specifying the correct logon account for the KC Plug-In service.

If specifying a Kofax Capture User in the Kofax Capture User Profile section of the Kofax Capture Settings screen in the KC Plug-In console:

  1. Specify the parameters for User ID and Password for the Kofax Capture User, and click the Test credentials button to verify that it connects successfully.
  2. Specify the Local System account for the logon account for the KC Plug-In service and the Message Connector service.
  3. Restart both services.

If specifying a Linked User in the Kofax Capture User Profile section of the Kofax Capture Settings screen in the KC Plug-In console:

  1. Select the Linked User for User ID for the Kofax Capture user account.
  2. Specify the Linked User for the logon account for the KC Plug-In service and the Message Connector service.
  3. Restart both services.

The KC Plug-In console should now state "Service is running."
