Error loading batch classes prevents PlugIn Service start

Question / Problem:

What can cause an issue where the KC Plug-In service won’t start, with the following error message?

Error loading batch classes

How can I resolve this issue?

Answer / Solution:

This issue can be caused by a corrupted BatchCat.xml file, which can occur if the Administration module crashed while Batch Classes were being published.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Rename or delete the existing BatchCat.xml file in the CaptureSV\BatchDB\Catalog folder.
  2. Open and close User Profiles in the Administration module, which will generate a new BatchCat.xml file.
  3. Restart the KC Plug-In service.
