Question / Problem:
There is an issue where the Web Capture Plugin states that the VRS License is missing or invalid. How can this be addressed?
Answer / Solution:
This was determined to be due to an issue within the internal VRS image processing code, and is not reflective of a true licensing issue.
The following hotfix has been created for Kofax Web Capture 11.0, 11.1 and11.2:
Fixing Deployed Applications
Customers who have installed the Web Capture Plugin via Kofax.WebCapture.Installer.msi and/or Kofax.WebCapture.macOS.pkg on client machines can update their client machines by running the installer from the hotfix.
In some deployments such as shared machines where Kofax.WebCapture.Installer.msi was installed as a system service, it may require that a systems administrator perform the upgrade.
Installing for Enterprise / Multiple-User Environments
If you are installing the Web Capture Service on a machine that multiple users log into (Remote Desktop) then you will need to install the Web Capture Service as a system service instead of per user.
If it's already installed, you will first need to uninstall the Web Capture Service from the machine.
To install as a system service, install using the command line (as administrator):
msiexec /I Kofax.WebCapture.Installer.msi INSTALLASSERVICE=1
Update the SDK
To update the SDK, find the WebResources folder, usually:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Atalasoft\DotImage 11.2\bin\WebResources\WebCapture\
and replace the following files with the hotfix versions:
atalaWebCapture.js Kofax.WebCapture.Installer.msi Kofax.WebCapture.macOS.pkg (11.1 and 11.2 only)
The Hotfix files should replace the same files within the WebResources\WebCapture folder within your ASP.NET solution.
