Cannot reset passive input status

Question / Problem: 

Passive inputs cannot be started and the following error can be seen in the KIC Plug-in traces:

Answer / Solution: 

This specific error can be seen when you configured SSL in the Message Connector Configuration but didn't setup the KIC Plug-in connection configuration to connect to the https version of the MC URL.
The two option to recover from this error are to either:

  • Disable the "SSL Active" checkbox under the HTTP section of the Advanced settings of the Message Connector Configuration.
  • Leave "SSL Active" checked and change the 'Message Connector URL' setting in the Plug-in Connection configuration to connect to the https version of the MC. (e.g. https://localhost:25086 instead of http://localhost:25086).
