How do I configure a language for the 'Kofax Communication Server' different from English?
Summary
Description
First we need to make sure that Windows is setup correctly to support the new language (On TCOSS Server, LINK Server and Client Machine). Open the 'Regional and Language Options' via the ‘Control Panel’. Make sure that the “Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages” checkbox is checked. (Changing this will require a restart).
Set the ‘Language for non-Unicode programs’ to the required language (tab Advanced) and ‘Regional Options’ and Location settings to the matching country. Make sure, that the checkbox 'Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile” is checked.
On TCOSS, set the TCOSS Codepage (sysconf line 10 pos 3+4 e.g. = 04 e8 for Arabic)
For the fax channels, make sure that rendering is enabled (configline 3 pos 2). This should be enabled per default ('FC1, 003). Restart TCOSS after making any changes.
On the LINK machine, set the PC Codepage under TCLINKMX\General\PCCodePage to the required value. (e.g. 1256 (DEC) for Arabic) Also set the TCOSS codepage under TCLINKMX\TOPCALL\Codepage. Restart the Link after making these changes.
On the client side, where you create the messages/cover you have to setup an ‘Additional Codepage’ in TCfW under ‘Admin’ -> ‘Common Preferences’ -> tab ‘Messaging Server’. Also change the ‘PC Code Page’ under the Workstation tab.
This will generate a new registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOPCALL\CodePages\nnn\Font where nnn is the code page number.
Now change the text block of the cover to the selected font. (This will also provide the required codepage information to the text field)
It is also possible to specify the font that should be used by TCOSS for rendering.
To do so, create a new STRING type registry key called:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOPCALL\CodePages\nnn\Font where nnn is the code page number (this is the same as for TCfW).
