CCM Repository role administration changes not documented

Description: Changes have been made to the administrating roles functionality. It is no longer possible to create new roles or edit existing roles from Designer for Windows.
Roles created by users prior to updating are considered “legacy” roles.
This change is missing from the release notes of Kofax CCM 5.0.

Installation guide mentions wrong database names in upgrade section

Description:
In the installation guide the section “Upgrade your Installation” (page 15) mentions the following database names:

  • Create a new database for the contract manager called <Database!Prefix>_CM_4.5.1>.
  • Create a new database for the CCM instance called <Database!Prefix>_01_4.5.1>.

These database names are incorrect.
Workaround:
Use the following database names:
For the contract manager use database name <Database!Prefix>_CM_5.0.
For the CCM instance use database name <Database!Prefix>_01_5.0.

Documentation for adding field sets to a quick document is incorrect

The Designer for Web manual mentions wrong instructions for adding field sets to quick documents.
Workaround:
For adding a field set to a quick document use the following notation «[Fieldset.Field]».
You can use ALT+174 and ALT+175 for adding the “«” character and “»” character.

CCM services are not rebranded.

Not all the CCM services are rebranded to the new product names. These are:
    Aia ITP/Server = CCM Core
    Aia ITP/Server Document Processor # = CCM Core Document Processor #
    Aia ITP/Server Watcher = CCM Core Watcher
    Aia ITP Content Management API = CCM Content Management API
    Aia ITP/MDK Repository Server = CCM Repository Server

Designer for Windows installer is not rebranded

Description:
The installer of Designer for Windows is not rebranded. The name of the installer is “ITP MDK Repository Client setup.exe”. It’s located in “<provided rootpath>\CCM\Work\5.0\Instance_01\designer\Client".
During installation the wrong default port is specified. The default port is 2587 for CCM Repository.
After installation, the start menu entry “ITP MDK Repository <instance name>” will be created. The shortcut name for starting CCM Designer for Windows is ITP MDK.

Translation is not complete in Designer for Web

Not all parts of the Designer for Web are translated. The field set editor is not completely translated. The Document Template editor is not completely translated for all languages. The content wizard editor is not translated.

CCMe Setup Assistent does not work for adding/changing/removing service hosts

CCMe Setup Assistant fails to add, to change and to remove Service Hosts.
Workaround:
Use install_CCMe_Service.cmd in the Batch and Output Management installation folder to manually install the Service Host.

Functionality not present in Designer for Web

Description:
Designer for Web does not contain the following functionality:

  • Create new projects
  • Delete folders
  • Rename folders
  • Edit/Configure DIDs
  • Edit/Configure Data Backbone
  • Create new field sets
  • Configure auto-includes
