KCM Toolbox related errors

Article # 3035672 - Page views: 88

Issue

When setting up the KCM toolbox, there are multiple errors that you can receive in Microsoft Word.

Solution

  1. A message that states the location is not trusted.
This error indicates the shared location of the manifest file is not added to the Trusted Add-In Catalogs in Trust Center in Microsoft Word. You have to add the location to the Trusted Add-In Catalogs:

  2. The message 'Sorry you seem to have lost your network and/or internet connection. Click "Retry" once you're back online.'
The web server hosting the KCM toolbox is unavailable or you have specified an incorrect address in the manifest file for the web server hosting the KCM toolbox.
  3. The message 'A problem occurred while trying to reach this add-in.'
The web server hosting the KCM toolbox is unavailable or you have specified an incorrect address in the manifest file for the web server hosting the KCM toolbox.
  4. The message 'This add-in is no longer available from the following server: <host name>'
The network share that exposes the manifest file is not accessible; or the manifest file is not present in the configured toolboxpath (CCMToolboxManifestPath); or the manifest XML file does not contain the correct ID; or the manifest XML file is invalid (it contains invalid XML syntax). In an upgrade scenario you cannot re-use the manifest file and KCM toolbox web application of the previous installation. To check the configured toolbox path using ManageCm.exe, see 'show a contract' in the Kofax Communications Manager Getting Started Guide.
  5. This add-on could not be started. Close this dialog to ignore the problem or click "Restart" to try again.
This indicates the manifest xml file is invalid. Please verify if the manifest file contains any typing errors or invalid xml elements.
