Not possible to sign - "The server reports an error. Current user action is not possible!"

Customer Situation

Upon signing a signature field in a document the user get´s the error "The server reports an error. Current user action is not possible!" and the signature is not inserted into the signature field.

In the log files the below messages in relation to the issue can be found:

  • error "SIGNATURE_ARCHIVE_ERROR Error Number=1000 arg1= wrong event type
  • message='Cannot use PKCS#12 certificate (No usable certificate found)'type='5'referenceId='null'hiddenParameter='null'

Solution

The customer is still using the Demo certificate bundled with SignDoc Web 5.0 at time of shipment and found in the certificate store located at "...sdweb_home\conf\cert_store.p12".

This Demo certificate in SignDoc Web 5.0 expired on the 3rd of May 2017:

As a solution to this issue and as a general advice it is highly recommended for each customer to replace the Demo certificate with the own personal certificate.
