Problem:
ControlSuite Server ID is blank
Solution:
After a new installation of ControlSuite or a restart of the 'Kofax Licensing' service, the Server ID is blank. This can be resolved by perform the following steps.
First Method:
- Open Windows Services and ensure the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service is running
- If the service is not running, select the service and click on start
- Allow 2-3 minutes before opening the Configuration Assistant
- Open the Configuration Assistant and validate if the Server ID is now present
Second Method:
- Open Configuration Assistant and navigate to the Licensing section
- Click on the "Edit" button beside the server location
- Click on the "Preview" button
- Once the Server ID is displayed click on "Apply"
Third Method:
- Open Windows Services and ensure the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service is running
- Find the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service and select “Stop”
- Navigate to the following path: C:\ProgramData
- Remove the "FLEXNETSAS" folder
- Navigate to the following path: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService
- Remove the "FLEXNETLS" folder
- Open Windows Services and start the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service
- Allow 2-3 minutes before opening the Configuration Assistant
- Open the Configuration Assistant and validate if the Server ID is now present
NOTE: Performing the third method will remove any license that had already been added to the system, and the license will need to be re-added online or manually.
