Problem: 

ControlSuite Server ID is blank

Solution: 

After a new installation of ControlSuite or a restart of the 'Kofax Licensing' service, the Server ID is blank. This can be resolved by perform the following steps.

First Method:

  1. Open Windows Services and ensure the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service is running
  2. If the service is not running, select the service and click on start
  3. Allow 2-3 minutes before opening the Configuration Assistant
  4. Open the Configuration Assistant and validate if the Server ID is now present

Second Method:

  1. Open Configuration Assistant and navigate to the Licensing section
  2. Click on the "Edit" button beside the server location
  3. Click on the "Preview" button
  4. Once the Server ID is displayed click on "Apply"

Third Method:

  1. Open Windows Services and ensure the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service is running
  2. Find the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service and select “Stop”
  3. Navigate to the following path: C:\ProgramData
  4. Remove the "FLEXNETSAS" folder
  5. Navigate to the following path: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService
  6. Remove the "FLEXNETLS" folder
  7. Open Windows Services and start the ‘Kofax Licensing’ service
  8. Allow 2-3 minutes before opening the Configuration Assistant
  9. Open the Configuration Assistant and validate if the Server ID is now present

NOTE: Performing the third method will remove any license that had already been added to the system, and the license will need to be re-added online or manually.
