Question / Problem: 

Scan GUI fails to install on Ricoh device

Answer / Solution: 

When installing the embedded client on Ricoh devices, it will generate an error warning that Scan GUI is not installed. The device may work with some of the functions but will fail for others or fail completely. To resolve the issue, follow the steps listed below.

Steps:

  1. Uninstall PCC5
  2. Reboot the device
  3. Upload SmartScanEx manually through the Extended Feature Settings of the device
  4. Perform a full MFP client install through DRS
  5. Sync Assets
  6. Sync Workflow Buttons
