ControlSuite : Cannot add Device to Equitrac Web System Manager even though there is a free device license
Problem:
Not able to add a new Physical Device to the Equitrac System. The Web System Manager gives an error displaying there are no more licenses but the system still has available licenses under the device licenses.
Solution:
This can happen on ControlSuite system using device licensing where the Virtual Print Queue has been created without setting the Output Options to None.
On systems prior to ControlSuite 1.1 Fixpack 6 this option does not exist and we recommend to upgrade to the latest available ControlSuite Fixpack.
To clear the licenses, first follow the KB ControlSuite: How to configure a virtual queue without taking a Device License - Kofax
Then navigate to C:\ProgramData\Nuance\Equitrac\CAS and delete its contents
Then restart the CAS service. You will now be able to add your device,
