Controlsuite : How to reset Device Web Service

Question: 

How can Device Web Service (DWS) be reset removing all configured devices ready for redeployment?

Answer: 

The simplest way is to rename the folder containing the DWS configuration files.

To do this follow the process below:

1. Stop the Device Web Service.

2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Nuance\Integrated

This is where the configuration is stored as it runs as local system.

3. Rename the DWS folder (it can be deleted when new files have been created and fail back to the original is not required).

4. Start the DWS service.

5. Once Started, navigate to the DWS web page (https://localhost:8443) and check the page loads and there are no devices visible in the MFD tab once logged in.

Once this is complete, the devices can then be redeployed (Using DRS or Web Client dependent on platform).
