Core license assigned to different server although that's not the case

Problem: 

After updating ControlSuite with an AutoStore only installation, the licenses may be grayed out. For the new slider "AutoStore core license", the license is already assigned to another server, but this is not the case.

Solutions: 

There are two methods to solve the problem. If the server has an internet connection, then the first method can solve the problem without support. If an offline activation is required, Support must be contacted. 

Method 1:

  1. Stop the “Kofax Licensing” windows service.
  2. Delete \ rename the folder: C:\ProgramData\flexnetsas
  3. Delete \ rename the folder: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\flexnetls
  4. Start the License Server service again
  5. Refresh the license for online activation
  6. Apply the license.bin file for offline activation (support must be contacted)

Method 2:

There is a tryout fix that can be requested from support. With this method, only a DLL has to be replaced.

This Tryoutfix contains the NSi.AutoStore.Flexnet.dll v8.3.1.65535 file. This version is for AutoStore 8.3

To apply the Hotfix, please do as follows:

  1. Backup the file NSi.AutoStore.Flexnet.dll from AutoStore installation folder (ex. for AutoStore install folder c:\Program Files\Kofax\AutoStore).
  2. Copy the file NSi.AutoStore.Flexnet.dll of the Hotfix and paste it into AutoStore folder.
  3. Open Configuration Assistant.
  4. Navigate to AutoStore licensing page.
  5. Click on 'Apply' or 'Next' button. This action should revoke the licenses ('ghost' licenses too).
  6. Now it's possible to assign the Core license.
  7. Once the core license is assigned, all other license can be assigned accordingly.
