How do you create a new self-signed certificate for Equitrac 6?

Answer / Solution: 

If the Equitrac certificate has expired, follow the steps below to recreate a new self-signed certificate.

  1. Log in to the Equitrac server as the Equitrac Service Account.
  2. Launch the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
  3. Select File Add/Remove Snap-in.
  4. Select Certificates.
  5. Select Current User and Local Computer.
  6. Browse to Equitrac -Shared and delete the certificate.
  7. Exit the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
  8. Launch the Kofax Configuration Assistant.
  9. Select Certificate Management.
  10. Select Equitrac component. 
  11. From the dropdown menu at the top select Generate Self-Signed Certificate.
  12. Start the Windows “Services” applet.
  13. For ControlSuite 1.1 Fix pack 6 or lower installations select the EQ CAS service.
  14. Restart the service.
  15. For ControlSuite 1.2.x installations select ControlSuite CAS service.
  16. Restart the service.
