ControlSuite: Konica Minolta Unified Client - Failed to register device with DWS - Return Code 400
Problem:
If the return code 400 is displayed during registration, this is related to the SSL/TLS settings of the MFP.
DRS Plugin Error Log:
Message: com.nuance.docimg.dws.core.devicelifecyclemanager.DeviceInstanceException: failed to create device instance or get serial number for MFP IP ADDRESS
DWS Logs: NEUF Platform Konica Minolta:
[DEBUG] nuance-exec-1: (KonicaMinoltaDeviceLifecycleProvider) Getting Device instance for MFP IP ADDRESS
[ERROR] nuance-exec-1: (KonicaMinoltaDeviceLifecycleProvider) Remote connection MFP IP ADDRESS:443 didn't present a certificate
[ERROR] nuance-exec-1: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Remote connection MFP IP ADDRESS:443 didn't present a certificate
Solution:
When SSL/TLS is activated on a Konica device and should be used, ensure during registration that the web interface of the device is also encrypted with SSL/TLS. Open the MFP WebInterface with Admin rights and go to the PKI settings of the MFP, and ensure the mode for SSL/TLS is also be enabled. Change the value from none to Administrator.
Settings to encrypt the Konica Web Interface:
In Administrator mode, select [Security] - [PKI Settings] - [Enable SSL], and then configure the following settings. -> [Mode uses SSL/TLS] -> “Administrator mode]: Uses SSL communication only in administrator mode.” Or chose for admin and user: “Administrator mode and user mode]: Uses SSL communication in administrator mode and user mode.”
