How big do we make the EQSpool Folder?

As a cost saving measure there is a formula to calculate the size of the Equitrac Spool folder

EQSpool folder = (PV x PS x NP x HR)

Where:

PV = The largest number of jobs to be printed within an hour.

PS = The size in KB of the largest single print job within the hour.

NP = The total number of printers on the print server.

HR = Job Expiry time.

For example:

Number of jobs printed within an hour in peak time is 75

The size of the largest single print job within the hour is 1980KB

The total number of printers on the print server is 78

Job Expiry time is 24 hours

75 x 1980 x 78 x 24 = 277992000 KB

271476 MB

Estimated free space required for the EQSpool folder is 256 GB.

In reality the size is less because end users would be releasing their jobs as well.

Remeber minimal disk size will also give you minimal performance.
