Does the Equitrac user Directory Services Synchronization feature support OpenLDAP?
Question:
Does the Equitrac user Directory Services Synchronization feature support OpenLDAP?
Answer:
The LDAP user synchronization feature in Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express--configured in the Directory Services Synchornization dialog--requires that the Persistent Search feature/container be enabled/present on the LDAP server.
OpenLDAP does not support the persistent search container; OpenLDAP instead supports the syncrepl container. As a result, LDAP synchronization will not function through the Directory Services Synchornization dialog.
Please note that it may still be possible to perform a user synchronization using a EQCMD.exe command line (and scheduled via the Scheduled Task feature). For more information, please consult the section entitled "Importing LDAP User Accounts" within the Equitrac Administration Guide.
