In Equitrac Express and Equitrac Office, an "Out of Paper" error message appears in the DME console on some devices when the device is not actually out of paper. The error message is misleading.
This issue occurs because some devices return an "Input Tray Empty" status to DME, which results in DME sending an "Out Of Paper" message to the DME console and the "Windows Printers and Faxes" window. To prevent DME from sending the status, modify the registry as follows:
1. Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Equitrac\DRE\
2. Right-click DRE and select New>DWORD Value.
3. Type QueryPrinterStatus and press Enter.
4. In the right pane, double-click the new entry and type one of the following values:
0 (zero) = disable
1 = enable
