Problem:

No Print Client Pop-up Dialog Box Appears or Print Transaction Recorded After Switching to Workstation Printing

Solution:

This behavior began after switching from printing using an Equitrac port (DRE) to using workstation / desktop printing.

This issue will occur if the default device class in System Manager is configured to "Do Not Track."

When printers are removed from Equitrac ports, they self register under the default device class. If Do Not Track is defined as the Tracking Behavior in the default device class, the pop-up does not appear and print transactions are not tracked.

To resolve the issue, in System Manager you may either

  1. Move the printer to a Device Class where its Tracking Behavior is not set to Do Not Track, OR
  2. Set a tracked Device Class as the default Device Class.
