Timekeeper surname change in AD fails to update

When a Timekeeper, or user has a last name change in Active Directory, the last name does not update in System Manager / Users. Since the AD sync looks at the primary pin, or Timekeeper ID and sees that it is already assigned to an existing user, it is ignored. To resolve this:

Go to System Manager / Users

Find the existing user and delete the Timekeeper number, or User ID.

Manually run the AD Import from System Manager / Configuration / AD Sync.
