PC Law returns "bad matter number" when importing records

PC Law returns "bad matter number" when importing records

Problem Statement:

PC Law reports "Bad Matter Number" for some of the records that are being imported from a transcation file.

Cause:

Incoming faxes from an analog multi-function device are being sent to the users' mailboxes as scans, however, a Matter number has not been assigned to these jobs.

Resolution:

1. Log onto the Equitrac server
2. Start System Manager
3. Click on Expection rules
4. Click Add...
5. Enter a Name and Description
6. Under Transcation type select Scan
7. Under Transaction state select Exception
8. Click Add...
9. Set Attribute to Matter
10. Set Operator to IS EMPTY
11. Click OK > OK
12. Ensure that the Active checkbox is checked.
