Number of devices of type 'emb' reached license limit. Error Message Appears When Attempting to Initialize an Embedded Controller

With Equitrac Office, Equitrac Express, and Equitrac Professional 5, using an embedded device, when you attempt to initialize the device, an error message appears indicating that the licensing limit has been reached. This behavior occurs if the Factory Settings in the CAS_Config Table were not correctly replicated to the necessary Active Settings during the initial creation of the database.

NOTE:  If the database is in a live installation, please contact Equitrac Technical Support for assistance with resolving this issue.

If the database is new and does not contain data that cannot be easily recreated, uninstall and then reinstall the Equitrac software.  Do NOT keep the EQCAS database when prompted.  Alternately, you can stop the EQ CAS service and drop the EQCAS database.  Then, follow the instructions in the Installation guide for assistance with creating a new EQCAS database.
