Error message: "Error 1935" while installing Kofax products

Answer:

When installing Kofax (or ScanSoft) products, an error may appear: "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component.". This problem is usually caused by firewall applications, anti-spyware programs, or pop-up blockers installed on the machine.

Please follow any of the suggestions below to try and resolve the 1935 error message:

  1. Check for firewall applications, anti-spyware programs, or pop-up blockers that might be installed or running on the system. The programs should be disabled or removed from the system during the install process. This can usually be accomplished by right-clicking on the program in the System Tray and exiting out of the application or removing from Add/Remove Programs option in Windows.   2. Check and remove any unnecessary programs running in the background.
  3. Make sure the latest updates from Microsoft have been downloaded and installed. Please visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com for find out if the latest updates to Microsoft have been installed.
