Problem: 

PaperPort becomes unresponsive and thumbnails are not being generated for some PDF files.

Solution: 

Run the “CheckPPFolders.exe” utility located in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\PaperPort” and select “Remove PaperPort meta-data files from my PaperPort folder”.
