How to Disable Windows Desktop Search Integration in Power PDF 2.1

This Windows Desktop Search Integration is optional at time of install.

It allows users to search from Windows search to find key words in pdf's.

This can be disabled via PowerPDF or stop the service "NPDFIFilterSrv" please see attachement

C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\Power PDF 21\NPDFIFilterSrv.exe

This can also be done in the registry by going to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NPDFIFilterSrv and setting the Start to "4" (disabled)

Here is a sample .reg file to do this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NPDFIFilterSrv]

"Start"=dword:00000004

Note the registry change will not take effect until the workstation is restarted.
