Article # 3054047 - Page views: 53
Problem:
SafeCom Administrator doesn't show Server Group after a new installation or the server is showing as offline.
SafeCom Jobserver trace file shows following error:
ADOInterface::CSQLInterfaceAdapter::Open, Error 80004005: Unspecified error Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Description: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECCreateCredentials()).]SSL Security error.
Answer / Solution:
The G4 Server by default connects to SQL Server using TLS 1.0, if the the server (G4 and/or SQL) do not allow this protocol the SSL Security error is seen.
To resolve configure SafeCom G4 to use TLS 1.2 when connecting against SQL Server:
- Install Microsoft OLE DB Driver 18 for SQL Server
- to be obtained from MS: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56730
- Create a new DWORD value named "Provider", and set its data to "1".
- Registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SafeCom\SafeComG4\Database
- Restart SafeCom Service.
