ScanStation client is unable to connect to the ShareScan Manager

Problem Statement:

The ScanStation client running ShareScan 5.2 SP2 is reporting an error that it cannot connect to the ShareScan Manager service on :9600

Potential Cause:

.NET framework service is experiencing an issue that is triggered when using the SMTP via LDAP connector. To verify if this is the cause of your issue, review the Windows Event Log (Application Log) for the following error with a Source that equals ShareScan and an Event ID of 0.

   at SMTPviaLDAP.SSManagerCommBase.Finalize()

Resolution:

Run a repair against the .NET 4.5.2 framework.

Note:

ShareScan 5.1 and earlier do not use .net 4.5.2, so this solution only applies to ShareScan 5.2 SP2
