ShareScan - Document storing fails with Interwoven Worksite 8.5 or later with error message containing "NRT"

Problem Statement:

Using ShareScan, and attempting to store to a WorkSite server version 8.5 or later, including Worksite 9, the following errors are displayed.

ShareScan 5.x:

"Unable to store the document due to the following error [NTR document]" error is displayed in the activity monitor.

"[NRT Session][Login]Logging in as "user": Server interface version is different from client application. Check that the client application version is compatible with the server."

In ShareScan 4.x:

 "(NRT Document) (Checkin) (Message unavailable) " error is displayed in the activity monitor.

Cause:

A feature "Flatspace Filing Prevention" was added with WorkSite 8.5 and is enabled by default in clean installations of WorkSite 8.5, or

Version of the WorkSite DLL is mismatched.  ShareScan includes version 8.0 of iManage.dll.

Resolution:

ShareScan 5.x:

There are two potential solution options:

A. Disable the "Flatspace Filing Prevention" option on the WorkSite Server

B. Update the version of the iManage.dll. on the ShareScan server to WorkSite server 8.5 or newer.

ShareScan 4.x:

Support for the "Flatspace Filing Prevention" feature does not exist for ShareScan 4.x. Please review the below options:

  • Upgrade to ShareScan 5.x and following the above procedure
  • Disable the "Flatspace Filing Prevention" option on the WorkSite Server (8.5 or later)
