Canon Unified Client: Slow loading Launcher Screen and Print Job List

Information:

We are aware of an issue with the Canon Unified Client when after this client has been installed, we observe that the device is slow to load the Launcher screen and the print job list.

After further investigation and help from our partners it has been identified that this issue may occur on these models.

We have contacted Canon regarding this issue and they have confirmed that this is an issue with their firmware. The version we have identified is 18.22

To check if you have this version of firmware installed, go to the firmware section of the Canon web page to see the firmware version.

The first section of the version is the date followed by the version of firmware.

Example: 20220221.0182201

Canon have confirmed that this will be fixed in a later version, however have not specified a date. If you experience this issue, we would suggest to reach out to Canon to see if a later firmware version is available or you can downgrade the firmware version.
