Information:

When using an external USB keyboard on Canon MFPs with embedded clients (such as ShareScan, Equitrac Embedded for Canon MEAP, etc.), use the following settings in the Canon MFP USB settings.

These settings can be changed on the Canon MFP UI or through the web interface.

Typically: Settings/Registration -> Preferences -> External Interace -> USB Settings

Settings may vary from device to device, and Canon Support may be able to assist if required.

• Use as USB Device - Off
• Use MEAP Driver for USB Input Device - ON
• Use MEAP Driver for External USB Device - Off

This configuration has been found to work.

Please note that ShareScan client version 5.2.30330.1 and newer can work with the setting "Use MEAP Driver for USB Input Device - Off"

Depending on the USB card reader and USB keyboard types, it may not be possible to use both simultaneously.  Similarly, if more than one application is installed, it may not be possible for all applications to use the external keyboard.

ShareScan Application to work with external USB keyboard the keyboard must to be Cherry keyboard.
