- Multi-vendor embedded implementations with Shared ShareScan Managers or Shared SQL databases
- Single-vendor implementations with a mix of Embedded and ScanStations with a Shared SQL database
It's strongly recommended to upgrade to ShareScan version 5.2. The latest Service packs (SP5 or SP6) for the embedded device types referenced cannot be implemented with ScanStations or other vendor devices. If an upgrade to ShareScan 5.2 is not possible, either create separate ShareScan Manager & SQL database environments for the device types or maintain the same environment on Service Pack 4.
