The ShareScan Restart button in the Administration Console restarts the ShareScan Manager and Apache Tomcat services. It is not necessary nor recommended to restart the ShareScan Agent service daily.
Here are some recommendations:
- If a manual restart is required as a result of a system change, update or recovery from a serious malfunction, a restart of both ShareScan Manager and ShareScanAgent may be required, and is recommended.
If restarting using a script or scheduled task, it is not necessary nor is it recommended to restart the ShareScan Agent. Only restart the "ShareScan Manager", and "Tomcat7".
