ShareScan 5.4 SP2- Some Xerox devices cannot scan after upgrade

Problem Statement:

When upgrading from ShareScan 5.x to ShareScan 5.4 SP2 with Xerox devices, some Xerox devices may require that a setting change is made on the ShareScan server to work properly.

Some devices do not support EIP 2.0 polling method used in ShareScan 5.4 SP2 and require that the legacy SNMP polling is used.


See the ShareScan 5.4 SP2 Installation Guide, section 9.3.3 for details:

- Stop Apache Tomcat at Service Manager [servies.msc]

- Stop ShareScan Agent and Manager services at Service Manager [servies.msc]

- Browse C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\Tomcat 8.0\webapps\ShareScan\WEB-INF\classes  

- Edit file  

- Find "#enable.eip.job.poll = true" at the last line. 

- Change to the following one "enable.eip.job.poll = false"

[!!!Remove "#" from the begining of the line!!! and Change value to false]

- Save the file

- Restart Apache Tomcat at Service Manager [servies.msc]

- Restart ShareScan Manager and Agent services at Service Manager [servies.msc]
