How to migrate MarkView KTM project and batch class from Production to Non-Production Environment?

Answer: 

1- Initial Checks:
a- Ensure that KC and KTM you have on Non-Production got the same version of the ones that are installed in your Production Environment.
b- And that ODAC is installed in your Non-Production env and the tnsname.ora file is pointing to the correct database.
c- Ensure that KCEC (Kofax Capture Export Connector) is installed.
d- And the MVImportAPI configuration is set correctly.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin\MVImportAPIConfig.exe

2- Export the Batch Class from Production:
a- Create a new folder on the desktop (e.g. MarkView).
b- Login into KC Administration as admin > Right click on the Batch Class > Export > Select the Batch class from the left menu and click on add > Then click on the KTM Tab and uncheck the option.
c- Click on Save As > And save the CAB file into the MarkView folder on the desktop> Then click on Export.

3- Export the KTM Project Directory from Production:
a- Right click on the Batch Class > Extended Synchronization Settings >  take a note of the KTM project file location from the field “File Name”.
b- From that Location > Copy the whole project folder to the new folder you created previously on the desktop.

4- Copy the folder that contains the batch class CAB file and the Project Folder to the Non-Production server.

5- Import the Batch Class into Non-Production:
a- Login into KC Administration as admin into Non-Production> Click on the Home Tab > Click on Import > Navigate to the new folder we copied from Production and select the CAB file > Click Ok.
b- Select the Batch Class from the menu on the left and click on Add > Select the option “Save Duplicates to new name” > Click Import.

6- Import the KTM Project into Non-Production:
Copy the KTM directory that we got from Production to the desired location on the Non-Production server.
e.g. under C:\KTM\MarkView (you might need to rename the directory in case there is another one with the same name).

7- Configure the KTM Project:
a- Open Project Builder from the Capture and Output server (Non-Production) from Start -> Programs -> Kofax Transformation -> Project Builder > Open the Project that we copied in the previous step.
b- Click on the Script Variables under the project tab > and update the values below:
DatabaseDataSource
DatabaseUID
DatabasePWD
c- Click on Project Settings > Database Tab > Under the section “Relational Connections” > Click on the LimLoc and Receipt DBs and update the connection details and save.
d- Under the section “Databases” > Ensure that each one is pointing to the correct location of its relevant data export text file > then click on import for each.
e- Click on the Dictionaries Tab > Ensure that each item is pointing to the correct location of its dictionary file.
f- Click on the General Tab > Under the section “Online Learning” > Ensure that its pointing to the correct location where the online learning directory is located on this environment, otherwise copy it over from production If required.
g- Validate and Save the project and make sure that there are no errors.

8- Configure the Batch Class:
a- Right click on the Batch Class > Properties > set the Image Folder location > Click Ok.
b- Expand the Batch Class> Right click > Export Connectors > Highlight “Kofax Capture Export Connector” > Setup > And select the Export Settings Instance for the Batch Class.
c- Right-click on the Invoice Class and select "Database Validation".
d- Select the MarkView instance and click on "Properties" (It might take a while).
e- Reenter the database connection details/password.
f- The go to “Table Settings” tab and make sure that:
Index field to validate : Kofax.Seperation.BarCodeValue
Validate against table: MV_BAR_CODE_TYPE
Match column: BAR_CODE_TYPE_ID
g- Right click on the Batch Class > Synchronize Kofax transformation Project > File > Load Project and select the project from the new location > then sync.

9- If you have KAMV installed, then you need to update the details below for the Batch Class:
a- Open Kofax Capture Administration.
b- Right Click on your MarkView Invoice Batch Class.
c- Select the Configure Kofax Analytics for MarkView option.
d- Update the schema password in the configuration displayed.

10- Republish the Batch Class.
