Question / Problem:

During an install of Kofax Analytics for MarkView in a Citrix environment, the process to install the KAMV Workflow Agent failed due to group policy restrictions. After removing the group policy and restarting the server, it was not possible to complete the install. The installer recognized that the Agent is installed and so reverted to attempt a full KAMV install which failed with the following error:

The uninstall also failed and a repair did nothing.

Answer / Solution:

The uninstallation of the KAMV Workflow Agent may not successfully unregister the Workflow Agent components and so manual steps to complete that process must be followed before running the uninstall process. The uninstall steps are detailed below :

1) Before uninstalling the Workflow Agent, execute the following commands in elevated mode.
a) In command prompt, change the directory to "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319":
cd /d C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319

b) Run the commands below to unregister the DLLs:
regasm C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\Kofax Analytics for MarkView\Agent\KMWA.Agent.Setup.dll /u
regasm C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\Kofax Analytics for MarkView\Agent\KMWA.Agent.dll /u

2) Uninstall Kofax Analytics for MarkView from Control Panel, reboot then start the install again.

3) If the Uninstall still does not work, try the below:

Open Regedit -> Computer -> Click on Find -> search for string “Kofax Analytics for MarkView”, back up (export) then remove all corresponding entries.

And then Uninstall Kofax Analytics for MarkView from Control Panel, reboot then start the install again.
