MarkView Administration - Changing the Database and Administrator Passwords

Summary

3824

Applies To

  • ERP System: Oracle, SAP
  • MarkView Version: All Versions

Password Changes in your MarkView Environment.

For security reasons many customers will change the password in their MarkView Schema, Advisor Schema (9.0 and Below), Kofax Analytics for MarkView Schema, or the password used by the MarkView Administrator Account. As MarkView components are dependent on an available database connection, changing passwords will require that the Markview components be updated with the new Schema Password.

MarkView Schema

Application Server

  • MarkView 5.10.x and below
    • You will need to update your Oracle DAD (Database Access Descriptor) on your Oracle Application Server (iAS)
    • For each OC4J: Modify the data-sources.xml file, which can be found in your Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)_HOME/config-<oc4j name>/ directory.
  • MarkView 6.x and above
    • Oracle Application Server ( OAS )
      • Update your Connection Pool from within Oracle Application Server Enterprise Manager (OEM)
        • Select the name of the instance that your OC4Js are running in.
        • Select the Administration tab.
        • Select JDBC Resources
        • Edit your Connection Pool with the new password
      • If you are running MarkView 6.0 or 6.1.x it is also necessary to edit the dads.conf file and provide the new password for the schema. This is because MarkView 6.0 and 6.1.x still use the DAD, but subsequent versions (MarkView 6.2 and above) use the OC4J instance rather than a DAD for MarkView Home connections.
    • WebLogic
      • Update your Connection Pool from within the WebLogic Console.
        • Navigate to Domain Structure -> Services -> JDBC -> Datasources
        • Select the MarkViewDS data source

          • Execute the following command to generate the Oracle Advanced Queueing (AQ) password file. Filling in the appropriate information where [aq_schema_user] and [aq_schema_pass] are the username and password for the MarkView schema where AQ is installed (Note: If you receive a 'NoClassDefFoundError' running the first command please try the second command which has a slightly different name for the Oracle Advanced Queueing Startup Class.)
          • java -cp $<domain_lib_directory>/AQJMSStartupClass.jar:${WL_HOME}/server/lib/weblogic.jar com.oracle.oems.weblogic.AQJMSPasswordUtility -username [aq_schema_user] -password [aq_schema_pass]
          • java -cp $<domain_lib_directory>/aqjms- startup.jar:${WL_HOME}/server/lib/weblogic.jar com.oracle.oems.weblogic.AQJMSPasswordUtility - username [aq_schema_user] -password [aq_schema_pass]

      • If you are using MarkView Advisor ( Wildfly Only MarkView 9.0 and Below)
        • Update the Oracle Advanced Queueing (AQ) Password
          • In JBOSS_HOME/modules/com/markview/jndi/main/jndi-impl.jar file, from the aqjms folder, extract the aqjms-user.properties file.
          • In aqjms-user.properties, locate the AQJMS.password string and change the password.
