How to Use SSH to Connect to a Linux Machine
Answer / Solution:
If you try to connect using telnet, and get errors like "Could not open a connection to host on port 23 : Connect failed", or "Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm while getting initial credentials", or get a login prompt, but you keep getting "Login incorrect", this means that you need to use SSH to connect to the box.
You should download PuTTY from http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe. Run putty.exe and enter the hostname. Make sure SSH is selected. Click on open to connect.
To launch X applications like f60desm or the MarkView installer, run VNC. For details on this, please see the following article:
