MarkView Advisor - Advisor is showing tags (such as ${timeNow} ) instead of text

Summary

4547

Applies To

  • ERP System: Oracle, SAP
  • MarkView Version: 9.0 and Below

Behavior

  • In certain circumstances Advisor may show tags (such as ${timeNow} ) instead of the appropriate text.

Known Causes and Resolutions

  • Scenario 1 (Specific to OAS environments.)
    If you do not complete the post-installation step of modifying the opmn.xml file for the OAS Advisor group, the Advisor overview and reports will show tags rather than actual data.
    Follow the instructions below to fix this issue:
    1. Stop the Oracle Application Server.
    2. On the OAS, enter the following command to back up the opmn.xml file:
      $ cp $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf/opmn.xml $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf/opmn.xml.bak
    3. Using a text editor, open the original opmn.xml file.
    4. Locate the following line, which should fall after <ias-component id="advisor_group" status="enabled">:
      <process-type id="advisor" module-id="OC4J" status="enabled">
    5. Find the .xml subsection for the advisor process type ID that governs start parameters below the line in (4) above:
      <category id="start-parameters">
    6. Modify that section to include the line as follows:
      <data id="oc4j-options" value="-userThreads"/>
      For example, the start parameters category should look something like the following when completed:
      <category id="start-parameters">
      <data id="oc4j-options" value="-userThreads"/>
      <data id="java-options" ...>
      </category>
    7. Restart the Oracle Application Server.
  • Scenario 2 (Can occur on any Application Server.)
    An unsuccessful installation can result in missing directories, and result in users seeing rendered tags instead of text/charts on the front end.
    For example :
    Advisor > Alerts / Overview / Managing Productivity / Managing Cash / Managing Compliance.

    The attached CordaDirectoriesAfterInstall.txt file shows the expected Corda directory structure after a successful Advisor install.
