Troubleshooting Steps
If you encounter an issue with the MarkView Bar Code Generator, please perform the following steps:
Verify the OC4J is up
- Verify that the MarkView Bar Code Generator has properly started, by starting a browser and navigating to a URL of the following form which should display a bar code with the word "test" underneath it.
http://server:http_port/mvasbcg/barcode?text=test - Your MarkView Home page contains your server:http_port.
- If the above URL does not generate a bar code continue to the next step.
Verify that pop-ups are enabled in your web browser
- The Bar Code Generator will launch a new window with the bar code cover page. Therefore you will need to make sure pop-ups are not being blocked.
Review log files for errors
- If the Bar Code Generator is not functioning correctly then you will want to review the log files for any error messages. See the "Logging" section below for logging information.
Check pre-requisite software
- To check the versions of pre-requisite software please review the Kofax Cross Product Compatibility Matrix.
Logging

- MarkView 8.1 or Later

- File location: All MarkView Components - Log File Locations
- File name(s): mvbcg.log
Impact of debug logging
- Enabling debug logging on the Bar Code Generator will cause the log file to grow at a rate of about 2.5KB for each new Bar Code.
