MarkView Export Connector - Error 1007 while installing KCEC-MarkView

Behavior

When installing the kcec-markview.msi on a Scan Server or Station, the window contains repeated error messages saying:

Fatal Error (1007) : Could not open output file 'KCEC-MarkView-Install.log'

Also - a pop-up says:

"RegAscSc.exe
RegAscSc.exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."

Known Causes

The error occurs if the .msi installer is run without using Administrator privileges.

Resolution

  • Ensure that you are running the installer as an administrator.
  • If you are running on a Windows Vista or higher operating system that allows for the "run as administrator" option, please right click on the "command prompt" in the start-->programs -->Accessories and select run as administrator.
