MarkView Export Connector - HTTP 400 (Bad Request) on Upload to Document Server

Article # 304218 - Page views: 374

Applies To

  • ERP System: Oracle, SAP
  • MarkView Version: MarkView 6.5 and higher

  • When Kofax Capture attempts to export batches to MarkView via the MarkView Export Connector, those batches encounter the following error and transition to the Quality Control queue:
Export Error: Script #1 (OAD9) [0 MVImportAPI.MVImportException: Exception in HTTP Upload Request. --->
MarkView.DocServer.FileTransferException: Exception in HTTP Upload Request. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server
returned an error: (400) Bad Request

Known Causes

  • This error occurs when the request sent to the HTTP server is not valid. When this is seen in the MarkView Export Connector, it typically indicates that the HTTP request received by the MarkView application server that is running the MarkView DTM is not the same as the HTTP request that was sent from the Kofax Capture server that is running the Export module. The cause is that a load balancer, proxy server, or similar device exists between the Kofax Capture machine and the MarkView application server, and the device is corrupting the HTTP request.

  • It is necessary to identify network devices that are between the Kofax Capture server and the MarkView application server and confirm if any of them are corrupting the messages. Depending on the device, there may be logging available to show what requests are received and passed on, or it may be necessary to use a packet sniffer to see what requests are sent from the Kofax Capture server and received on the MarkView application server. If an intermediary device is confirmed as the cause of the problem, and if assistance is required to resolve it, the device's vendor should be consulted for assistance.
