Overview

MarkView Fax is used for sending and receiving documents with the MarkView system. Inbound faxes are generally used for expense report receipts, and in less common cases invoice submission.

Outbound faxes are used to send invoices back to the Vendor when there are corrections that are needed, as well as sending out copies of rendered invoices.

Troubleshooting Steps

If you encounter an issue with the MarkView Fax, please perform the following steps:

Faxes are not being received

  • Restart the server that is running MarkView Fax
    • As there are services and physical hardware that MarkVIew Fax Relies on there often a reboot of the physical server will resolve many issues
  • Check the phone lines by plugging in a standard telephone and see if the phone rings when the number is called.
  • Review the log file as described in the logging section below for any specific error messages.
  • Confirm the the MarkView Import Server that you have configured for your fax instance is running.

Faxes cannot be sent

  • Ensure that the fax request was created using the Support Tools , pending fax administration.
  • Check the phone lines by plugging in a standard telephone and try to dial the same number that was being faxed to

  • Review the log file as described in the logging section below for any specific error messages.
  • Confirm the the MarkView Fax Export Server that is configured for your fax instance is running

Logging

There is no debug logging for MarkView Fax.

Log File Location

  • All logs for MarkView Fax are logged to the MarkView event viewer log. You can access this by going to start -->Run type in eventvwr and click o.k.
  • Save this log as an evt or evtx file prior to attaching it to a support case.
