MarkView All Components - Blank page after attempting to log in

If a user provides an invalid username/password combination when attempting to log in to MarkView Home, the user may be presented with a blank page. The exact behavior seen, depends on the browser in use. If using Internet Explorer, the user will be presented with a blank page; if using Firefox, the user will continue to be presented with the login dialog box unless they click on Cancel (in which case the blank page will now appear).

Known Causes

This may be due to a known issue which is tracked in Defect SPR00064481


Note: Similar symptoms can also occur due to the following:

  • The authentication method (MarkView preference WEBCLNT_SEC_AUTH_TYPE set to ERP) has been set to validate against the APPS schema — please ensure all MarkView and Oracle Apps packages are compiled and valid.
    • The OC4J connection pool database connection information contains the incorrect password. A blank page will be displayed without a password challenge when attempting to log in into MarkView. The following error message will be displayed in the OC4J log file if the password is invalid: 'java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied'


The workaround is to refresh the browser page and then log in with the correct credentials.
