EBS 12.x upgrade Oracle Object installer says software is already installed when following the steps in the Reintegration Guide

Issue

After doing and EBS upgrade to 12.2 and following the steps in the reintegration guide, when we follow the steps to run the Oracle Objects installer, we get the error " software is already installed, nothing needs to be done" and the installer does not proceed. 

Do we skip the installation?

Cause

This is related to documentation defect  1327950: The Reintegration Guide was written for upgrades in both EBS 11 to 12.1 or 12.2 or for Upgrades of 12.1 to 12.2.

The documentation says to select "Standard Full Install". This however only applies to customers who have upgraded from 11 to 12, as they will need to select the R12 Oracle Objects full install.

For customers who are on 12.1 and going to 12.2, the installer still needs to be run but a full install can not be selected. 

Solution

Note: Do not skip running the installation.

For customers who are going from 12.1 to 12.2 when you are on the screen where you select between "Standard Full Install" and "Partial Install" please select a Partial Installation.
