MarkView Oracle Integration - I am getting a forms error; but I am unsure if the error is related to an Oracle issue or a Kofax issue?

Behavior

  • I am getting a forms error; How do I identify if a forms error is Oracle or Kofax related?

Resolution

  1. Identify if the error message is being displayed on a form that has been modified by Kofax.
    • To find out what the name of the current form open in Oracle Applications, click on Help / About Oracle Applications, locate the "Current Form" section, and note the "Form Name".
  2. If the error message is being displayed on a form that has been modified by Kofax, can the error be reproduced on a test system?
  3. If the forms error is being displayed on a form that has been modified by Kofax, and can be reproduced on a test systems, attempt to recreate the issue using a non-Kofax MarkView-modified version of the form.
    • Log out of Oracle Applications.
    • Backup the modified FMX file and put the shipped Oracle FMX in its place.
    • Log back in to Oracle Applications
    • Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    • If the issue is reproducible, the issue is unrelated to the Kofax modifications.
  4. Even if the error is not reproducible using the shipped Oracle FMX, we have seen occasions where this FMX does not match the shipped Oracle FMB. In order to rule this out you should:
    • Log out of Oracle Applications
    • Backup the Kofax modified FMX file.
    • Generate a new FMX file using the shipped Oracle FMB (with no Kofax modifications).
    • Log back in to Oracle Applications
    • Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    • If the issue is reproducible, the issue is unrelated to the Kofax modifications.
  5. If after these tests, the issue seems related to the Kofax modification, please log an Kofax support case for further assistance.
