MarkView All Components - How to disable duplicate rules after an upgrade to 6.x

Summary

4559

Applies To

  • ERP System: ( Oracle, SAP)
  • MarkView Version: (6.x and above.)

Behavior

  • After an upgrade from 5.10.x to 6.x or greater one of the post-upgrade steps included is to disable all duplicate rules.

Known Causes

  • The installation does not disable the rules automatically.

Resolution

  • This process needs to be done immediately after completing the 6.x upgrade for the Database and Application Server components.
    If you are performing an upgrade to 6.2.x, please follow the process below:
    1. Follow the product documentation and complete the product upgrade process for the Database / Application Server components. Please note that the Oracle Objects and Capture and Output pieces are independent of this change, so they can be done before or after the next step.
    2. Add the Module Name CUSTOM-LEGACY to the mv_module table:
      insert into mv_module (module_name, description)
      values ('CUSTOM-LEGACY', 'Any pre-upgrade customizations.');
      commit
    3. Change the module name of all CUSTOM module objects immediately after the 6.2 upgrade, to be CUSTOM-LEGACY:
      Begin
          mv_module_util.ChangeModuleName('CUSTOM', 'CUSTOM-LEGACY') ;
      End ;
    4. Disable any rule instances that were not touched by the product upgrade.
      update sf_rule_instance
          set enabled_yn = 'N'
      where module_name = 'CUSTOM-LEGACY'
          and workflow_id in
              (select workflow_id
                  from sf_workflow
              where lower(module_name) not like 'custom%'
                  and lower(module_name) not like 'mvx%'
                  and lower(module_name) not like 'legacy%'
                  and lower(module_name) not like 'mvc%');
      commit
    5. Continue on with the rest of the installation, including the Oracle Forms components, any Capture and Output components, all post-upgrade steps, Consulting Services deliverables, etc.

      If you are performing an upgrade to 6.3 or 6.4, please follow the process below:
      1. Follow the product documentation and complete the product upgrade process for the Database / Application Server components. Please note that the Oracle Objects and Capture and Output pieces are independent of this change, so they can be done before or after the next step.
      2. Disable any rule instances that were not touched by the product upgrade.
        update sf_rule_instance
                set enabled_yn = 'N'
            where module_name = 'LEGACY'
                and workflow_id in
                        (select workflow_id
                            from sf_workflow
                        where lower(module_name) not like 'custom%'
                            and lower(module_name) not like 'mvx%'
                            and lower(module_name) not like 'legacy%'
                            and lower(module_name) not like 'mvc%');
        commit;
      3. Continue on with the rest of the installation, including the Oracle Forms components, any Capture and Output components, all post-upgrade steps, Consulting Services deliverables, etc.
