Behavior

  • An error message "error 12003" is encountered in the MarkView Viewer Enterprise Edition. The complete error text is similar to the following:

Known Causes

  • Network problems have been known to cause this issue and prevent the MarkView Viewer Enterprise Edition from downloading the document from the Document Server.

Resolution

  • Check the network connectivity from the client machine to the document server, via DOS ftp or similar.
  • Check the network settings for the -MarkView Document Server-, including DNS and WINS entries for all DNS and WINS servers.
  • Check the network settings on the client machine for DNS and WINS resolution.
  • Confirm that there are entries for the -MarkView Document Server- in ALL DNS and WINS servers (primary and backups).
